Small Town Gurl

On my way back from my adventure to drag bingo in Cheyenne I found my new favorite baseball hat at the Loves truck stop outside of Laramie. It says Small Town Girl on it and omg that just was the inspo i needed! I shop gas stations so hard, hence why i made my merch called gas station merch. I only find my most favorite hats and tees at gas stations. I have been collecting them for many years, I would totally be a designer for brands that make gas station merch, it always hits in the most perfect way. I had never seen a hat that said that before and it is the best way to describe me. Growing up in a small town is so specific. When I moved to NYC i loveedd it all i wanted to do was get away from being a small town girl. Now that I have been living back home for a while, the love hate is always coming and going but this hat and that getaway made me really appreciate all that makes me a small town girl. A small town is like an onion, the longer you are there the deeper into the layers you get and you are constantly surprised. You interact with a wide range of people. You end up in the most unexpected circumstances the deeper into the onion you go. And at the end of the day you love the community so much, you feel apart of an ecosystem that you want to care for. I do love being a small town girl. I wanted to use a fancy ribbon off a flat ribbon because I'm always jumping between worlds in this especially whacky small town of Jackson.

Bow Jacket No. 109

Blue + Green But Stripes

This one was just about a color combo that is feeling fresh to me. I also really like mixing stripes. I love putting different stripes together. I learned to love stripes in my J.Crew designer life. It made me LOVEEE stripes. Stripes are like a solid with a twist. You can put them into an outfit as if you were wearing something solid but the stripe adds another texture. I love blue and green together lately.

Bow Jacket No. 110

Golden Hour

I wanted to make a pretty color story, inspired by those moments in the sky right before the sun sets and it goes dark. Everything is so pretty and striking and epic for a short period of time, things sparkle, then the sun sets and its over and dark. But you had those sparkly moments for a touch of time and that is where the magic lies. I was also wanting to mix more stripes and would not have thought of putting these all together but i loved it when i held the ribbons together. This one is such a pretty take on the bow jacket. I love turning the army jackets into pretty jackets for dressing up.
